The Jaq. Group is a fast-moving company which has experienced considerable growth over the last year.

The Despatch Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient and timely delivery of goods to the customers.

This role involves managing a team of despatch operatives and ensuring that all operational activities run smoothly. The position requires strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills to ensure a seamless operation.


Key tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Co-ordinate, encourage and support all operatives to maximise productivity and meet order targets following management's instructions
  • Prioritise tasks and assign to the team ensuring an adequate distribution of workload
  • Oversee the daily despatch operations, ensuring all deliveries are scheduled and executed in a timely manner
  • Monitor despatching software and systems to efficiently manage and track delivery pick up timings
  • Prioritise urgent orders and allocate resources appropriately to meet customer demand
  • Monitor compliance ensuring that products and processes comply with relevant industry standards, postal regulations, and company procedures
  • Conduct regular spot checks on selected orders to proactively identify any errors or discrepancies before they are dispatched to customers to ensure company profits are maximised.
  • Completing relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Take part in the training of new staff members within your team
  • Monitor productivity of staff members along with conducting regular performance evaluations and offer feedback to team members
  • Assisting with rotas and performance reviews when necessary
  • Monitor inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy
  • Liaise with and effectively communicate with various departments especially the Customer Service team in regards to order updates, schddules, change of details etc
  • Ensure inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained well
  • Daily communication with the Warehouse Managers and report any deviation of plans and eslate any issues
  • Assist with printing orders and making amendments / investigations where necessary and delegating the workload
  • Implement and promote health and safety regulations within the workplace and ensure the team wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Be fully flexible to assist in other departments according to the needs of the business
  • Undertake any other duties as required, that are within the competence of the post.

Essential Criteria:


  • 2+ years of experience within a similar fastpaced environment
  • 1+ year of experience within in lead / supervisory role
  • Ability to delegate and assign employees tasks
  • Clear knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills to ensure the warehouse is run efficiently
  • Proficient in inventory software
  • Confident working to fast turnarounds
  • Positive, cando attitude
  • Willingness to learn
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Able and willing to work additional hours when required
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time when on warehouse floor

Salary:
From £27,000.00 per year

Schedule:
