Description

Severfield (Products and Processing) Limited, part of the Severfield Group, design and manufacture a range of steel products including structural steelwork fabrications, modular frames for traditional buildings, specialised framed modular equipment rooms/housings to protect critical systems equipment and bulk materials handling equipment.


As part of our growth strategy, we require an additional Senior Estimator to complement our Sales/Commercial team at our York office.

The purpose of this role is to provide accurate and efficient estimates based upon contractor tender documents, drawings, models, and bills of quantity


The Role:


  • You will be responsible for analytical cost estimates and tenders, from receipt of enquiry to tender submission on a variety of build projects.
  • You will analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive build cost estimates.
  • Work closely with inhouse design engineers to prepare cost effective solutions to clients where required.
  • Prepare and submit detailed, accurate, professionally presented, competitive and timely quotations to Sales/Commercial managers for presentation to potential customers.
  • Liaise with and obtain prices from subcontractors for specialist services such as M&E HVAC etc.
  • In conjunction with relevant team members ensure that prices obtained from external suppliers or subcontractors are an accurate and competitive reflection of the works required
  • Coordinate all costs and compile the quotation document and package of information to be submitted to the customer
  • Liaise with Sales/Commercial Managers to ensure that, prior to submission, quotations reflect agreements made with our customers
  • Ensure the timely completion and submission of quotations.
  • Produce estimating statistics and reports as directed by management.
Experience of modular or portable steel buildings would be very advantageous but is not a prerequisite. Most important will be your excellent Estimating skills and understanding of steel fabrication processes.
