ABOUT THE ROLE

NB THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION WORKING 2.5 DAYS (17.5 HOURS) PER WEEK.


This Senior Editor role is to work flexibly within and across sectors during the product development process to develop pedagogically appropriate content which meets the requirements of the Customer Value Proposition and is delivered to schedule and within budget.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Input into the Customer Value Proposition of 'valueadd' differentiating components.
  • Assist with market research during the product lifecycle.
  • Brief and oversee the work of inhouse editors and external suppliers and carry out appropriate quality checks.
  • Under direction, specify products and manage their creation.
  • Brief and work with writers, taking responsibility for the overall development of content.
  • Manage project schedules, coordinating with suppliers and with the crossfunctional team.
  • Monitor and communicate potential over/underspend to senior colleagues.
  • Assist with commissioning projects.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments (Design, Digital, Production, etc.) on project requirements.
  • Identify and support implementation of continuous improvement and innovation opportunities.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. For this part time role, we expect to require 1 day per week in the office.


ABOUT YOU

  • Editorial experience and strong knowledge of content development process
  • Understanding of the principles of English language learning and teaching
  • Experience of commissioning and managing the work of external suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • Project management experience, with the ability to prioritize conflicting deadlines
