The Post
Over the past few years the Marketing and Retail Division has seen its student body grow rapidly, and we are now seeking to appoint an experienced academic to provide leadership in one of our three key areas of research competence


These are:

  • Consumer Research (including consumer behaviour, branding and marketing management);
  • Transformative Technologies (including digital and marketing analytics);
  • Retailing and Supply Chain (including channel management, omnichannel delivery, relationship marketing and sustainability).
The main duties associated with this post are as follows:

  • Deliver and lead research of high quality and publish in internationally recognised journals in the area of Marketing.
  • Provide innovative teaching, programme and module leadership in the area of Marketing across a range of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.
  • Engage in knowledge exchange activities with nonacademic stakeholders
  • Contribute to the reputation and successful operation and growth of the Division and School.
In addition, you may be required to travel and work overseas as part of your academic duties
.

Description of Duties Senior Lecturer**- Engage in individual and collaborative research of international standard, which aligns to the strategic direction of the University, establish a distinctive programme of research and disseminate results through regular publication in high impact journals, books and conference proceedings

  • Identify appropriate sources of funding, prepare research proposals for funding bodies and manage any grants awarded
  • Supervise research students as required, providing direction, support and guidance
  • Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement at programme and module level, in a manner that supports a researchled approach to student learning
  • Design, teach and assess a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including online/digital programmes where required
  • Mentor, support and advise colleagues, as appropriate, to assist in their academic career development in teaching and learning and research
  • Any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post

Associate Professor

  • Contribute to the strategic research leadership of the Faculty and to mentor, support and encourage the research and scholarship activities of colleagues within the Faculty
  • Conduct, publish and otherwise disseminate outstanding research of international standing and engage in activities to support the impact of research
  • Enhance the Faculty's research culture by securing, in collaboration with colleagues as appropriate, external funding through research grants or contracts
  • Manage research and knowledge exchange projects within the University, including their financial control, and supervise researchers, research students, and other staff engaged in such projects
  • Contribute fully to the research and knowledge exchange plans developed by Faculty, including providing such information as may be required to monitor the progress of each member of staff's research programme
  • Design and deliver a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate, postgraduate including online/digital programmes where required
  • Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports a researchled approach to student learning
  • Mentor, support and advise colleagues, as appropriate, to assist in their academic career development in teaching and learning, and research
  • Any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post

Essential Criteria Senior Lecturer**
Qualifications:
  • PhD / DBA / DMan or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Evidence of an established track record of high quality published research in at least one of the Division's three key research areas
  • Evidence of success in attracting research grants/external funding and delivering on externally funded research projects
  • Experience of supervising dissertation projects at undergraduate/ postgraduate and of supervising doctoral students
  • Proven experience of programme leadership including experience of designing, managing and delivering programmes and modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level
  • Experience of providing high quality teaching across a range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level preferably including online/digital programmes
