Description

Following significant growth across the business we have created some new roles within our Transport team to ensure the smooth running of the transport function.

We are recruiting for two Dispatch Coordinators to work alongside our Transport Supervisors ensuring the safe, legal and efficient dispatch of our fleet of 90 vehicles, making sure the transport team are driving (no pun intended) outstanding delivery and customer service.


Working hours - Between 2.30am-4am to 11.30am-1pm, 5 days across 7 (some weekend working)

As this is a new role, the duties will evolve as we move forward however typical duties will include:

  • Ensuring exports from the Warehouse Management System to the Transport Management System is complete.
  • Adjusting driver allocations in accordance with vehicle changes and round splits/combinations.
  • Generate key reports for rounds ensuring correct keys are ready and available for driver collection.
  • Ensure that drivers and vehicles are allocated on Stream ensuring this is completed in a timely manner so that drivers can depart in good time.
  • Allocation of spare drivers where needed to cover additional rounds, driver absence and any additional works that are required.
  • Ensure customer and supplier collections are allocated to the appropriate rounds and ensuring drivers are aware.
  • Allocation of company fuel cards and customer keys to the drivers.
  • Ensure all vehicle checks are carried out prior to the drivers departing the yard, ensuring any defective vehicles are reported using the defect process and if required change vehicle allocation to ensure our customers still receive their order.
  • Ensure on drivers departure that key and trolley numbers are recorded.
  • Ensure H&S compliance
  • Monitor transport systems to ensure legal compliance.
  • Work in conjunction with the debrief coordinators to ensure all people processes are planned and/or carried out including investigations and return to work meetings.
  • Ensure all vehicle accidents are reported in a timely manner and that investigations are complete and escalated.


We are looking for individuals with a positive, can-do attitude who are willing to get stuck in when faced with a challenge.

In addition we will be looking for the following:


  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills to deal effectively with 130+ drivers.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal form.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage your own time using initiative.
  • Experience using STREAM or other Transport Management System.
  • Ability to work in a calm manner in a fastpaced, highly pressured environment.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
