Location:FE College in Kings Lynn


Working hours:

Tuesday from 2pm to 7pm (we have an evening class on until the end of term)
Weds 1pm to 6pm
Thursday from 3pm to 8pm (to cover evening service in the restaurant)
Friday hours from 1- 4pm


Overview:


The Eight Group are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join the team at the Commercial Restaurant and Training Centre of an FE (Further Education) College.

This is a temporary position with the contract ending no later than July 4th, 2023.

The Cleaner will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within the restaurant and training facilities.

This role requires a diligent individual who takes pride in their work and can consistently meet the cleanliness standards expected in a professional setting.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing all areas of the Commercial Restaurant and Training Centre.
  • Ensure that all surfaces, floors, and fixtures are clean and sanitized, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness at all times.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors, restocking supplies as necessary.
  • Empty and clean waste bins and dispose of trash in designated areas.
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and doors to maintain a clear and streakfree appearance.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including wiping down countertops, sinks, and appliances.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, and other equipment as needed for events and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient cleaning routines and effective use of cleaning supplies.
  • Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate staff member.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with staff, students, and visitors.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience in a cleaning role, preferably in a commercial or hospitality setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks within set deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events and functions.
  • A positive and professional demeanor with the ability to work well as part of a team.

Note:

This is a temporary position with the contract ending no later than July 4th, 2023 and you will need an enhanced DBS ideally on the update service and Right to Work.
