JOB TITLE:
HSE ADVISOR


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • The HSE Advisor will provide proactive Health, Safety and Environmental support to the onshore teams engaged across our onshore contracts. As an experienced Health & Safety construction professional you will provide general and specialist health, safety and environmental advice, support, and information to internal and external customers.
  • This role will be pivotal in ensuring that Petrofac is legally compliant with relevant statutory Health, Safety and Environmental provision and where deficiencies are identified, will bring them to the attention of the responsible persons for action.
  • This role will support the development, implementation and continual monitoring of the Health, Safety and Environmental management systems in an onshore context.
  • Strong CDM Experience will be valuable as will be the need for forward and innovative thinking.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac's 'Life Saving Rules' and the Horizon Zero ethos.
  • Act as a focal point for onshore contract activities for HSE matters.
  • Assist with procurement process for assessing contractors in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental controls and management as part of tendering process, and construction phase plan reviews. Seek further information/clarification as required to ensure suitability and compliance.
  • Assist responsible managers with advice, guidance, and support to ensure suitable Health, Safety and Environmental documentation is included in production of Construction Phase Plans
  • Support the development and review of workpacks to ensure HS&E issues are built in from the planning stage to execution.
  • Support the processes of active monitoring including the review of data for trends.
  • Support the development of actions to address trends and sharing of these to drive good practice.
  • Represent the Company and its management system and arrangements to clients and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with client HSE representatives and Petrofac personnel to ensure a safety working environment.
  • Investigate and review near misses and incidents.
  • Investigate and review issues identified from Occupational Health surveillance.
  • Advise on legislative changes and industry initiatives.
  • Actively participate in Company initiatives and support contract implementation
  • Assist in the development and implementation of contract HSE objectives and targets in line with Company HSE strategy.
  • Coordinate delivery of Petrofac HSE themes and campaigns within the team
  • Prepare reports and statistics for contracts for internal and external reporting.
  • Act as a focal point for specific task procedures and supports the review and update of procedures.
  • Actively support the development of and maintenance of safe methods of working
  • Review and maintain the contract Safety Interface Management System
  • Undertake regular site visits, monitoring activities and processes, meeting staff and providing briefings.
  • Conduct safety audits, safety tours, safety monitoring; meet staff and provide briefings during site visits.
  • Maintain Petrofac's incident database and seek to resolve and close out actions arising.
  • Interface with the Petrofac/Client Occupational Health teams and site focal points
  • Undertake and improve HSE inductions for employees joining the Company.
  • Attending Company and client HSE meetings and promoting Petrofac HSE systems and standards.
  • Be an active member of the HSE team, sharing activities and supporting other team members.
  • Participate in supporting Emergency Response when required and advise client on ER matters.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • You will be qualified in NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH in Construction, NEBOSH Environmental Certificate, or equivalent and provide evidence of continued professional in line with IOSH
