The Opportunity:


  • The role reports functionally into the Head of Business Winning Services and is operationally deployed within the Land, Logistics & Training Services providing focussed strategic business Capture, shaping opportunities from the earliest point within the customer community through to contract signature

What you will do:


  • Customer relationships:
  • Build and maintain relationships at senior management level (company, client, and partners) in order to develop trust, gain customer insight and intelligence, shape customer requirements and position Leonardo Electronics as the preferred partner (increase PWin).
  • Be able to support and prepare others to lead customer, partner and competitor engagement.

Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate and guide capture team comprising of multidisciplined individuals & teams across Leonardo Electronics business units, and (where relevant) partner companies and/or contractors.
  • Ensure you can maintain a balance between the longerterm win strategy and the more immediate demands that face a Capture Team; keeping both aligned and informed to best win strategy effect.

Capture Strategy:

  • Collaborate broadly to develop Leonardo Electronics' capture strategy for assigned nominated captures.
  • Achieve company buyin and approval for the capture strategy including associated capability investments.

Capture Management:

  • Oversee solution development activities for assigned captures, ensuring that solution maturity matches or exceeds customer expectations throughout the capture lifecycle and drives our shaping strategy.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the execution of a coherent, funded, and resourced capture plan that details the implementation of win strategy whilst adhering to Leonardo Electronics' business winning policies and procedures.
Business Development and Business Strategy

  • Ensure that we support our Global campaigns and Business Units to develop early engagement and understanding of horizon/pipeline deals, maturing them for strategic capture at the ideal time to achieve best shaping effect.
  • Contribute to market and competitive analysis to understand the market for assigned captures / campaigns / programs, including import/export of relevant Leonardo Electronics products, services, and capabilities through Group entities.

In-year accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate that the customer's confidence is building with Leonardo Electronics and our ability to deliver for them.
  • Show progress against the approved capture strategy, associated capture plan and milestones, within approved budget and resourcing allocation.
  • Update win strategy as required to increase PWin and ensure that the win strategy is understood by the Capture Team and key stakeholders.

What we are looking for:


  • Essential:
  • Detailed understanding of:
  • capture management methodologies
- government procurement processes


Ability to:
- analyse and synthesise industry and competitive information contributing to capture planning and supporting documentation (ex. competition, SWOT, financials, schedule)
- engage with customers, partners and stakeholders at senior management and executive level


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of defence & security landscape, and the defence industry
  • Working knowledge of project management and project estimation
