Job Title:
Van Driver


Location:
Uckfield (Own transport is required due to location)


Salary:
£13.00 p/h


Hours:
Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm


The Company:

My client is looking for a Van Driver to transport raw ingredients and finished product in a safe and timely manner.


Driver responsibilities include arranging regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle, planning each route based on road and traffic conditions.

To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations.

Note that you don't need to have a van; we provide drivers with our own vehicles.


Skills

  • Proven experience as a Driver
  • A clean, valid driver's license
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
  • Familiarity with GPS devices
  • Ability to assist loading and unloading van when no forklift is available
  • Availability to occasionally start early / finish late
  • A polite and professional disposition
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)

Experience and Qualifications:


  • Minimum 2 years driving experience
  • Experience driving a 3.5 tonne van

Responsibilities

  • Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
  • Pick up raw ingredient / deliver product as requested
  • Collect / issue delivery notes
  • Assist with loading and unloading and secure the load appropriately
  • Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up to date on road conditions
  • Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed
  • Schedule regular van service appointments and report any issues
  • Organise van washing to maintain interior and exterior cleanliness
  • To assist in the warehouse or factory as required
