The Mick George Group we are looking for a
HR/ Payroll Apprentice

Job Purpose:


To support the Employee Services department with their aims & objectives, focussing on HR and payroll across the Mick George Group.


Responsibilities:


  • To obtain all absence across the Mick George Group
  • Transpose absence information, report being sent to Company and board of directors.
  • Arrange/Attend absence review meetings.
  • Answer employee services telephone line, assisting with HR & Payroll queries.
  • Inputting all hourly timesheets into system.
  • Reconciliation to Sage50 Payroll.
  • Production & distribution of payslips
  • Start to finish processing of payroll.

Skills/ Qualifications:


  • Demonstratable successful experience of working in a similar role.
  • Committed to providing first rate overall internal & external customer service.
  • Driven selfstarter, comfortable with working alone and as a proactive team member.
  • Basic knowledge of HR & Payroll practices.


  • IT Literate

  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Effective communicator, influencer & relationship builder.
  • The written communication skills to produce a variety of HR correspondence.
  • Honest & reliable, with confidentiality at the forefront.
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage own diary amidst challenging demands on time.
  • The role holder will be required to cover for work colleagues in times of absence.
  • Experience of working with Sage50 Payroll & Coins ERP+ (Desirable)
  • Advanced MS Excel user with the ability to interpret data using Pivot tables, Macros, and formulas (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of relevant HR laws and best practice (Desirable)
  • Experience of working in a similar role (Desirable)
