At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rising star George Russell.


The Team has set a new benchmark for Formula One success during the sport's current Hybrid era, winning consecutive Drivers' and Constructors' World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and the Constructors' Championship in 2021.

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Lead Electronics Technology Engineer in the Electronics group.


We are looking for a talented individual with the motivation and determination to succeed in this challenging and rewarding environment.


The role:

As our Lead Electronics Technology Engineer your responsibilities will include:"

  • Leading, mentoring and managing a team of engineers to deliver complex electronic projects.
  • Design & development of bespoke PCBs, embedded software and embedded systems.
  • FPGA/SOC hardware design and programming in VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • System level design for electronic and electrical systems to ensure integration across disciplines.
  • Collaborating with internal and external customers to ensure projects are delivered to spec and right first time.
  • Capturing and understanding of requirements, creating specifications and resource plans.
  • Reporting project and technical progress to stakeholders.
  • Supporting projects through the development lifecycle.
  • Ownership, root cause analysis and resolution of issues.

What we are looking for:


  • Electronics engineering degree or similar.
  • Extensive experience in leading a group of engineers to deliver electronic projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering electronic projects across a range of disciplines in a hightech industry
  • Experience in schematic capture and PCB layout with ability to design DDR/Flash & high speed comms interfaces.
  • Communicative and collaborative skills to deliver effective cross departmental integration and results
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently under a limited supervision to tight deadlines
  • A cando attitude, proven ability to lead a team to deliver electronics projects.
