Sindlesham Court delivers a first-class dining experience to all visitors and clients in our various centre boardrooms, meeting rooms and function suites.

Our events include; small bespoke dinners; larger formal dinners for up to 250 people; meetings; conferences; weddings; and other functions as required.

We provide a range of catering options for all events.

We are looking for a Part Time
CARETAKER to join our team.
This is a new post & is reporting to and under the direction of the Centre Manager.


Responsibilities Include:

The primary function is to provide excellent service to our customers, maintaining a smiling, cheerful and positive approach at all times.

To take responsibility for room layout in all rooms and their clearance in accordance with table plans & Sindlesham Court's timetable.

Ensuring that all necessary furniture and equipment is present as required.

Assist the cleaning staff to lay tables with appropriate cutlery/crockery for any events on the day/evening. To ensure all rooms are fully presentable on time as needed.

Manage furniture/equipment stores to maximum efficiency.

To also provide a high quality service to dining and bar customers, through giving excellent table service. Clearance of dining materials & removal of tables as required.

Maintain the 'courtyard' in tidy order, changing bins, placing bottles to the bottle banks, clearing cardboard and ensuring general tidiness and safe working/transit area.

To wash cutlery, crockery & pans using the potwash machine during the day. Also to be completed after service as required.

Assist in loading/unloading/stacking deliveries for kitchen/bar/general

Assist with any general maintenance of the building as & when required eg Painting of walls if marked

General gardening duties around the outside of the building eg removal of weeds

To help chefs in the kitchen with basic food preparation & plating up of food for service as required

On attaining age 18, undertake training on bar work and be prepared to assist bar staff/wine waiters as requested (Training will be provided).

High levels of customer service will be expected and training will be given for tills and card routines, including cashing up and balancing

To assist in all assistant type duties, as directed by management.

Handle customer complaints and enquiries quietly and efficiently, referring as necessary to a supervisor if required


Days/Hours of work - Required to work 5 days out of 7 dependent on business functions. Mon - Fri 2pm - 6pm. Sat - Sun as required. Total 20 Hours per week

The role will suit someone who has some Caretaking / General Maintenance experience, however full on-job training will be given if required


Job Types:
Part-time, Zero hours contract

Part-time hours: 20 per week


Salary:
£7.75-£12.00 per hour
