We are in a significant period of expansion and are looking to grow our Clinical Affairs Team to provide critical clinical support for our customers.

Purpose of Role


We are looking for a Clinical Sales Specialist based in the North of England to join our Clinical Affairs Team.


Hours of Work
40 hours per week. Daily working hours will vary due to travel to the location of customers. Occasional weekend work may be required.

You will be field based in the North of England, also covering Scotland and Northern Ireland. Occasional international travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold presentations on and provide clinical demonstrations of the Heidelberg Engineering product range to new and prospective customers.
  • Work in collaboration with the Sales and Clinical teams to proactively engage new and existing customers, identifying their needs, and providing support and guidance during the sales and aftercare process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decisionmakers within the territory to be their preferred partner.
  • Collaborate and assist with research projects to continuously develop the Heidelberg Engineering product range.
  • Work with the Clinical Affairs Manager to provide product support in the area by helping with advice on clinical benefits and advantages to help achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Provide support to the Clinical Affairs Department during domestic and international conferences and exhibitions.
  • Provide presentations to national and international audiences both inperson and virtually to promote and educate clinicians on the range of Heidelberg Engineering products.

Qualifications Needed

  • Relevant BA/BSc in Science/ Technology/ Medical area is desirable.
  • Ophthalmic clinical experience is essential.
  • Medical Device Sales experience is desirable.
  • Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS) registered or similar equivalent certificates are desirable.

Experience, Skills, and Expertise

  • Comprehensive clinical knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and diseases, and anatomy/physiology of the visual system is essential.
  • Experience in providing demonstrations of medical devices is essential.
  • Confident written and verbal communication, including being able to deliver presentations facetoface and virtually to key stakeholders is essential.
  • A high level of computer proficiency and demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Project and territory management skills are desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Highly organised, selfmotivated, flexible, and a selfstarter.
  • Willing to do a significant amount of traveling, including frequent nights away from home, occasional international travel, and varied working hours.
  • A full driving license is essential.
