Description

We're looking to recruit a material planner to step into a materials manager role. As the materials manager (materials planner) you would play a significant part in shaping a modern, highly technical manufacturing plant.

The salary on offer is up to £37,000 plus a 5% bonus, 5% pension, 25 + holidays, a cash healthcare scheme and life assurance at three times the salary.

The working hours are days Monday to Friday.

The hiring business is global, has been established for more than four decades and is considered one of the market leaders within its field.

Operating within a lean manufacturing environment, you will have the opportunity to implement change and lead the drive to improve results.

As the materials manager/materials planner, you will be responsible for the organisation of material stock control and delivery for a large business unit

You will also:

Manage and control the materials supply to ensure sufficient stock to meet the production schedule.
Implement continuous improvement processes and procedures to increase efficiency, costeffectiveness, and safety
Manage SAP for stock control and material ordering
Use the material delivery system to control stock of material, monitoring levels with regular audits
Prepare material/stock reports
Assess volume requirements against the production schedule
Ensure COSHH assessments for raw materials are completed and compliant
Ensure quality tests are completed of incoming materials, taking appropriate action if the quality does not meet required standards
Plan and execute identified materials trials
Experience gained as a materials planner, materials scheduler, MRP planner etc.
Knowledge of manufacturing health and safety practices.
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
