Job summary:


This is a 5-year programme of formal training and experience which will be acquired by working with specialist teams across the IPO.

You will gain experience in the end-to-end patent process and support services.

On successful completion of your training, achievement of your performance objectives and completion of your degree, you will progress to an Associate Patent Examiner role.

The Associate Patent Examiner role is the start of a clear progression route to becoming a Senior Patent Examiner.

  • You will also be required to successfully complete the University modules leading to a degree in electrical and electronic engineering achieving at least a 2:2 honours degree._

If you have a STEM-related career history, but do not hold the adequate A levels or equivalent academic results, you are eligible to apply, and we will consider each applicant on a case-by-case basis.

You will also need to be able to satisfy the University that you will be able to achieve the degree, as it will be at the discretion of the lecturer/course leader, who will also consider each applicant individually.
