The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education is a leading provider of primarily open access courses to adults from all backgrounds and life stages, predominantly studying on a part-time basis.

It celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2023.


The Institute is a fast-paced environment, working to launch new courses, review and improve courses across their lifecycles and support tutors to continuously improve their teaching.

The course offer is being reshaped to respond to the Lifelong Learning Entitlement, Apprenticeship Levy and opportunities presented by online teaching and learning.


The role holders will support the Quality Assurance & Committee Coordinator in the management of the quality assurance of the Institute.

They are part of the team which acts as the primary interface with the University's Education Quality and Policy Office and the Office for Student Conduct, Complaints and Appeals.

The role holders will also play a key role in supporting various committees at ICE, acting as secretary to the Committees and assisting in the management of the fulfilment of the terms of reference.


The role-holders will support the compilation, revision and checking of all handbooks and other documentation (paper and on-line) relating to the Institute's academic and pastoral responsibilities for use by applicants, students, panel tutors and administrative and academic staff.

Supporting the Quality Assurance & Committee Coordinator in communicating, documenting and implementing a range of processes relating to changing requirements from external and central University bodies etc.


The successful applicants will have relevant administrative experience including minute-taking and committee-servicing experience, together with excellent IT and communication skills.

They will also understand and deliver a high level of customer service, and have the ability to work accurately and efficiently, independently or as part of a team.
