About this client/child:
Jude is 16 years old and is at the heart of a loving and supportive family. Jude lives with his Mum, Dad and 2 younger brothers aged 11 and 14.

He is a charming, active, and happy young man who loves music, dancing, trampolining, swimming, acting/performing, and spending quality time with his brothers.

At the top of his list is walking his two friendly pooches or having a cuddle with them at home Jude has Cerebral Palsy, with his right side and legs mostly affected.

He has a moderate learning disability and uses visual aids to support his verbal communication due to his dysarthria. Jude is mobile but uses a mobility scooter for long distances.

He has recently been diagnosed with myoclonic epilepsy so as his Support Worker / PA you should be comfortable administering his medication, training will be provided.

Overview of role:

The family require an SEN Support Worker / PA to join Jude's small care team and provide 1:1 support in the afternoons (and during college holidays, if additional hours wanted).

Your shift starts by completing the college pick-up and either bringing Jude home or heading off to an extra-curricular activity.

Jude is an extremely capable young man and strives for his independence so we are looking for someone who will continually promote his self-care and independence skills.

The practical support Jude requires is mostly prompting and guidance so he can continue to complete tasks for himself, but he will need some support and supervision with his personal care.

He is keen for his Support Worker / PA to assist him with daily tasks such a cooking, meal prep, planning and organising activities, as well as enabling him to participate in family life, support him to walk his dogs, implement therapy (training provided by his SALT and Physiotherapist).

We are also looking for someone who is happy to muck in with the wider needs of the family.

Jude will want to spend some time chilling each day after a busy day of college, so during these occasions the Support Worker / will help with some light household tasks such as putting on a load of washing, emptying the dishwasher and meal preparation.

Rates offered are £19.20 weekdays, £21.20 weekends, Gross per Hour.

What's great about this job:
This is a fantastic part-time position supporting a happy young chap with a great sense of humour.

The family offer flexibility on days and hours for the right person Excellent client specific training available, along with ongoing supervision and support for Jude's case management team, and a competitive hourly rate.
