About the role
You will be teaching a class of 8 students within this mainstream school's specialist provision for deaf students.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons that are adapted from the National Curriculum to suit student needs.

You will beably supported by BSL teaching assistants and a class Communication Support Worker.

Experience teaching Secondary age students with Hearing Impairments is highly desirable for this role, particularly for applicants with strong BSL skills.

This role will befull-time, Monday to Friday 8.30-4pm on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent High School based in Kinsbury, Brent, which is a fully inclusive mainstream school where they take great pride in the diversity of their community.

The school also has an excellent Hearing Impairment Provision onsite which they calltheir Total Communication Resource (TCR).

They currently have capacity for 8 students and cater to deaf students with permanent hearing loss and have an EHCP that correlates with this.

The base gives deaf young people an excellent opportunity to develop, learnand succeed through a supportive and inclusive ethos.

The provision ensures that attention is given to deaf students' audiological, communication, social, emotional and academic needs so that progress is achievable.

It is is a welcoming environment where adeaf young person can feel relaxed, happy and safe recognises that a deaf young person needs role models to develop social skills, have good levels of self-esteem and confidence, and develop a positive self-identity.
