Based in our Cambridge development centre and reporting to the Test Equipment Engineering Team Leader the applicant will be involved in the whole life cycle of test system development from concept, design and build, through to validation deploymentand support.
Working as part of a dynamic team of engineers and interfacing with the other technical disciplines, main responsibilities include:
- Designing, documenting and delivering manufacturing test solutions based on agreed architectures
- Liaising with teams of different technical disciplines to realise the original Test system design
- Majoring on, but not limited to, the manufacturing test solution hardware
- Supporting test solutions deployed across our Contract manufacturers sites
- Work with production team to continually improve existing production processes by challenging existing paradigms and implementing best known practices
- Represent the department at a project level with regards to the current test equipment development cycle
- Support installation into Contract Manufacturing sites
- This role will involve travel outside of the UK to contract manufacturers to support or install test equipment
- Additional duties may arise on a seasonal or ad hoc basis, or as the business requires
Responsibilities
Qualifications
Essential
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Engineering
Engineering Degree and any other relevant qualifications, certifications or accreditations
Experience
- Experience in the design, test and delivery of test systems
- A good understanding of electrical measurement, test principals and test equipment
- Having been through the development life cycle from start to finish
- Experience in delivering solutions to complex problems through a logical process
Skills
Essential
- Proven ability to communicate in a variety of formats with an appreciation of target audience
- Good verbal and written communication skills including generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports based on higherlevel requirements
- Proven analytical and problemsolving skills, with strong attention to detail
- The ability to plan and organise own work in order to ensure multiple tasks can be prioritised and delivered against project objectives
- Using and controlling instruments and knowledge of making low level measurements
- Electronic circuit design skills
- Data analysis via Minitab
- A knowledge of RF theory would be an advantage
- Pneumatics design
