Strategic Planner

  • Water Quality Optioneering Team
Water Strategy & Resources have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Planner to join the Water Quality Optioneering team.

We are a large, multi-disciplined, team and you will be given the autonomy to work creatively and flexibly within a collaborative team environment.

About the Role


You will play a leading role in the identification, development and optioneering of key investment projects through the 'core programme' of water treatment capability improvements to deliver excellent quality drinking water for customers in line with the Strategic Plan.


Desirable Skills and Experience- Knowledge of WTW processes or experience in asset or strategic planning or system planning- Experience in writing project investment appraisals or business cases- Proven ability to work across a wide range of projects with challenging timeframes and multiple stakeholders- Collaboration is key for success in this role as you will be working with colleagues within SCSP as well as across directorates including CI and CSD- Experience working in the early stages of an engineering projects with particular focus on feasibility and optioneering- Ability to communicate across the business and with external stakeholders, the role holder will require strong influencing skills.

- An individual who plans and prioritises to ensure results are delivered on time and quality- A team player who builds credibility and trust while influencing and engaging a wider community of stakeholders- A problem solver who shows resilience and adaptability within a multi-disciplined, fast paced environment

The team covers the whole of Scotland with base location for the role being flexible. Applications with part time or flexible working requirements will also be considered.

The salary band for this role is £35,384 - £47,924 per annum (dependent on skills and knowledge).
