iOS Principal Engineer

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Potential for Extension / permanent) - Immediate start available

Salary: Up to £100k DOE

Location: Central London (3 days a week in office)

Working rights: Full UK working rights required (No visa's / sponsorship available)

We're seeking a Principal iOS Engineer to lead the charge on our cutting-edge private banking app. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new feature for a Tier 1 banking app on a breakthrough greenfield project.

Your Responsibilities

As our Principal iOS Engineer, you'll:

Drive technical innovation, defining best practices for mobile development and seamless integration with banking APIs.
Lead and mentor a team of iOS developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Ensure our Agile processes deliver exceptional results, working alongside Android engineers, back-end developers, architects, and QA experts.
Write, test, and deliver high-quality code, contributing to robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
Champion customer outcomes, ensuring every feature is built with the end-user in mind.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a seasoned iOS developer who's passionate about mobile technology and delivering amazing user experiences. You'll have:

Proven Expertise: Extensive experience building iOS apps in Swift, with knowledge of SwiftUI, Clean Architecture, and MVVM.
Technical Prowess: A strong grasp of design patterns, unit testing, pagination, asynchronous programming, and advanced debugging tools.
Security Focus: Knowledge of best practices to protect sensitive customer data.
Leadership Skills: The ability to mentor, inspire, and collaborate across teams and disciplines.
Product Mindset: A passion for delivering intuitive, customer-focused solutions.

Bonus Points For:

Previous experience within Banking, worked on at least one banking app.
Experience with RxSwift, APNS, SSO, or complex app integrations.
Knowledge of UML-based design tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and app distribution strategies.
