This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic finance teams supporting departments within one of the biggest and best providers of social sciences research and education in the UK.

You will be joining a vigorous and vibrant community of finance staff who work closely with a number of departments.

We have two posts available.

The first post provides finance support to, primarily, the Information School and School of Education, the second supports the Departments of Geography and Urban Studies and Planning.

Both posts report to a Departmental Finance Officer working closely with the senior finance officers to support the financial activities of the departments.


We are seeking two experienced Finance Assistants to undertake a key role of supporting day to day finance activity across a number of departments within the Faculty.


The Faculty of Social Sciences is a large diverse grouping of thirteen departments that offer professional education alongside more traditional social science disciplines.

This rich disciplinary mix encompasses both world leading academic research and research-led education. It is uniquely positioned amongst Sheffield's peer institutions.

You will be part of a departmental Professional Services team within the Faculty of Social Sciences.
