£25,278.74 per annum / £13.10 per hour

Part Time 15 hours - 2/3 days per week to be confirmed (Monday - Friday)

We have an opportunity available for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our Customer Experience - Supported Housing team to provide intensive housing and support services to vulnerable people living in their own homes (Floating Support) or within designated supported housing schemes.
The role
The aim of the Support Worker position is to promote independence and develop strengths and skills to enable the customer to maintain their tenancy, and to appropriately intervene at times of crisis.
You will support the assessment of customer needs and set up the agreement of support ensuring you understand and respond appropriately to the experiences and particular needs of the customer through acting as a keyworker.
You will enable the customer to develop or maintain a sense of achievement and fulfilment by assisting in the development of life skills and will encourage a wide range of activities including involvement in the local community.
You will also ensure all who live and work in the scheme are kept safe and healthy by following the Associations policies and recording and reporting procedures.
What we are looking for:
- NVQ level II in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- A commitment to Equality and Diversity.
- Experience working with customers with mental health needs
- Excellent naturalistic observation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, colleagues, families and external agencies.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good motivational skills, being able to encourage customers to maximise their opportunities.
- A good understanding of the principles and practice in working with vulnerable people.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
