Business Peak District Coordinator

Salary:
£26,000 to £28,000 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Based at:
Chesterfield with agile working. Additional frequent travel will be required throughout the Peak District

Contract:
Fixed term until 31 May 2024, full time (35 hours per week). Part time or job share will be considered


1. WHY THE POST EXISTS
To recruit and maintain Business Peak District members through in-person canvassing across the Peak District.

The postholder will be responsible for cleansing and maintaining the membership database for Business Peak District.

The coordinator will also develop and deliver insightful communications for members such as the regular newsletter and social media, provide effective secretariat for the Board, undertake website administration, and provide events programme coordination including maximising new and existing opportunities to co-deliver activity.


2. THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Reconfigure then maintain an accessible database of members.
  • Provide general secretariat support for BPD Board meetings including working with the Chair to devise agendas, take meeting minutes, schedule Board Meetings and source venues.
  • Develop and deliver an effective communication strategy for BPD member businesses via newsletters, social media channels, on the website and inperson.
  • Operate as the BPD website administrator to ensure an effective, useful and up to date platform.
  • Grow membership of BPD and its engagement with Peak District businesses, particularly through inperson canvassing across the Peak District.
  • Work with Chamber teams and other organisations to develop a monthly events programme (mix of face to face and virtual events, designed to suit the needs of the evolving Peak District business community).
  • Develop and conduct relationships with businesses to deliver a high quality service.
  • Signpost businesses with business support agencies/opportunities as and when relevant.
  • Initiate bookings and referrals with potential programme customers over the phone and inperson.
  • Organise, develop and own resources, processes and effective time management to ensure highquality service.
  • Occasional out of hours work will be required (i.e., evenings and early mornings for face to face events).

3. IDEALLY APPLICANTS WILL POSSESS

  • Knowledge of the business support landscape and economy in the Peak District.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the Peak District.
  • Demonstratable experience of organising and delivering inperson and virtual business activities.
  • Proven track record of managing complex customer or stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience of working with publicly funded business support services.
  • Strong desire to support business to grow and develop.
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Highly motivated can work as part of a team and independently.
  • Willing and able to spend 6080% of their working hours inperson across the Peak District.
