Location:
Eastleigh, with the requirement to travel to various locations across Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. After the initial training period, there is an opportunity for some flexibility to work from home.


Salary:
Scale 6, £30, £32,772.00 pa


Hours: 37.00 hours per week

We are recruiting for a Firearms Enquiry Officer to join a dedicated and well-established team on a full-time and permanent basis.

The role of Firearms Enquiry Officer is challenging but very rewarding, with full training and development opportunities available.


About the role:


This is a challenging but rewarding role, and while development training will be provided, applicants should provide evidence of experience in the areas of firearms and relevant legislation.


This particular vacancy will be located at Eastleigh, but will cover the surrounding geographical area (including Eastleigh, Southampton, Winchester and Botley) and travel to various locations through Hampshire and the Isle if Wight will be required.

About you:

Are you ready for a challenge?

Do you have a full UK drivers licence?

Do you have experience working in a specialised customer focused environment?

Do you have risk assessment and report writing skills?

Are you a confident and clear communicator?

Do you have experience working in strict guidelines or legislation?

Are you competent in the use and safe handling of firearms and shotguns?


How to apply:

Education - Are you educated to Maths and English to a minimum of QCF level 2?


Specialised customer environment - Please tell us about your work experience in a specialised customer focused environment where you manage complex enquiries.

Risk assessment

  • Please tell us about your skills and experience assessing risk.
Report writing - Please tell us about your experience collating assessment findings into reports, guided by legislation.


Communication - Please provide us with an example of when you have had to communicate an unsatisfactory outcome to a customer and how you dealt with this.

The interview will also include a written assessment on assessing and effectively managing risk with persons in possession of a licenced firearm/shotgun.
