About the Role:

We are seeking motivated SEN Teaching Assistants to join various schools in Hitchin.

This role is pivotal in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to ensure their successful integration and achievement in the school environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide tailored support to SEN students, based on their individual learning needs and plans.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with SENCO and other teaching staff.
  • Support students in classroom settings, small groups, or on a onetoone basis.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to the SENCO and parents as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and environments tailored to specific needs.
  • Help with the general welfare of SEN students, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:


  • Prior experience in an educational setting, specifically supporting children with special needs.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant qualifications such as an NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent are desirable.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the area of special education.
  • Must pass an Enhanced DBS check.
