Situation and Location
Disabled male requires personal care assistant. Reliability and a driving license are essential, the flexibility to cover for other members of staff is also important.
The current vacancy is:
2 Day Shifts on Wednesdays and Saturdays each week (7.30am to 5.30pm)
The Saturday shift could be alternate weeks shared with an existing member of staff.
Paid at £13.20 per hour.
Plus:
The flexibility to provide holiday/sickness cover on other days as part of a team of 7 carers. To help ensure 24/7 cover is always possible between the team.
Job Purpose
To provide a high standard of personal care and support in order to promote and maintain my independence both at home and at work.
A typical day would consist of:
- Personal care tasks to get me up and ready for the day.
- During the day more care tasks along with assisting with meals and carrying out whatever housework needs doing.
- Driving my adapted vehicle to go shopping, to the cinema or wherever else.
- Further routine care tasks in the evenings to get ready for night shift to take over.

Detailed Job Description:
- To provide me with personal care support in a dignified, sensitive manner, ensuring health and safety procedures are implemented at all times.
- To ensure that a professional standard of care is established and maintained with particular regard to physical, social, and recreational needs.
- To carry out whatever housework needs doing during your shift to help maintain smooth running of the house. Including laundry, cleaning, emptying bins/recycling and any other day to day tasks as they arise.
- To respect and help safeguard my property and possessions.
- To respect my privacy and uphold confidentiality at all times.
- To accompany me at work and carry out any reasonable tasks to support my work in a professional manner. This will be in a school environment, supporting my work as a teacher.
- To accompany me on social/recreational outings.
- To undertake any relevant training to develop your skills.
- To undertake any other duties that may be reasonably allocated which fall within the responsibilities of this post.
- To be able to drive safely and confidently.
Job Types:
