LIFELINE (NW) CIC part of the Howarth Housing group is a temporary supported accommodation provider in Greater Manchester.

Currently we are looking for at least 2 additional Housing Support Officers for full time positions across Greater Manchester, specifically the Oldham area.

There may be times where you will be required to travel to various other locations.


Job Title:
Housing Support Officer


Salary:
£24,000 per annum


Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM


Key Responsibilities:


Assessment and Case Management:

Conduct thorough assessments of homeless individuals' needs, and create individualised support plans to help them secure safe and stable housing.

Monitor and update these plans as needed.

Housing Placement:

Collaborate with local housing providers and authorities to assist clients in finding suitable housing options, including emergency and long-term accommodation.


Advocacy and Referrals:

Advocate on behalf of clients to access essential services, such as healthcare, mental health support, substance abuse treatment, and employment assistance.

Make appropriate referrals to partner organisations when necessary.

Budgeting and Financial Support:

Assist clients in developing budgeting skills and managing their finances to ensure they can maintain their housing once placed.


Conflict Resolution:
Mediate conflicts and disputes that may arise between clients and landlords or neighbours to maintain peaceful living environments.

Empowerment and Skill-Building:
Provide guidance and support to help clients develop essential life skills, such as job readiness, cooking, and housekeeping.

Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and organisational standards.

Crisis Intervention:

Be available to respond to crises, including emergencies outside of regular working hours on a limited basis, to ensure the safety and stability of clients.

Community Outreach:

Collaborate with local community organisations and government agencies to stay informed about available resources and services, and participate in community events and initiatives related to homelessness.


Knowledge:


  • Knowledge of local housing regulations, services, and resources in the UK.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with clients.
  • Effective case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in record keeping and documentation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle diverse and challenging situations.
