Our independent living service provides a range of quality housing solutions on a tenancy basis with integrated support in the community, services are delivered over 24 hours, 365 days of the year.

About the role

You'll prepare fresh home-cooked meals for up to 25 of our tenants and staff, plan seasonal menus that offer great quality, delicious meals, that also meet our customers cultural and dietary needs.

You will be competent at managing stock and budgets, including stock taking, placing orders, receiving deliveries and ensuring all activities comply with food safety standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Preparing and serving homecooked meals tenants & staff
Maintaining and cleaning the kitchen and dining area.
Planning and engaging in themed activities and events for tenants.
Ordering and replenishing food and kitchen supplies, with a focus on staying within budget.
Communicate clearly with the senior team in order to provide highquality meals to tenants on time.
Populating pdf's & excel spreadsheets.

_You must also have the following:_

Compassion for adults with mental health problems.
The COVID19 vaccination to protect our vulnerable tenants.
A DBS check that does not highlight issues preventing you from working with vulnerable adults.
Demonstrable experience and ability to cater for up to 25 tenants per day.
Level 2 Food Hygiene is essential, level 3 would be desirable.
Previous experience as a Cook in a supported living scheme or residential / nursing home.
To be able to cook for a large group of tenants, follow menu plans and have knowledge of special dietary requirements.

Pay is at £11.41 per hour, and the same applies for any agreed additional hours worked.
