Northampton
As a Barclays Head of Control Design - Tech, Cyber & Data, your responsibilities include the oversight and governance of Cyber, Technology, Data and Resilience.
You will help strengthen the control environment by providing control partnership services to the delivery teams that allow for targeted control focused interventions and consultation to fix and/or modify controls and assurance to ensure that key indicators are measured, and those relevant risk tolerances are managed through the Barclays Control Framework.

Working Flexibly
What will you be doing?:
- Developing and monitor Control/Exception reporting to ensure that execution matches strategic intent and identifying areas of opportunity to enhance existing controls
- Ensuring that the proposed controls and any tradeoffs are clearly communicated and documented (in both business and technical terms)
- Recognising the importance of maintaining information quality and integrity and comprehending how system design can affect this
- Delivering a series of designs for new and enhanced data controls, realtime patterns included
- Partnering with the existing Towers that make up Data, Customer Engagement, Ops and Insights, immersed within the new POD model
What we're looking for:
- Involvement in working on the design and implementation of controls improvement initiatives
- Experience of reviewing of operational risk policy & standards, preparing gap analysis and delivering actions to complete changes
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and experience influencing up to senior level (i.e. Group Risk, CIO and ExCo)
- Ability to work constructively with diverse stakeholders to scope business/project deliverables and timelines
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Understanding of the need to manage information throughout its lifecycle and how systems can implement controls to do this (preventative and detective)
- High degree of decisionmaking authority, and demonstrated ability to influence upwards
Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton.
