A family run home**Primley Court is set high above the lovely coastal town of Paignton. The home enjoys beautiful sea views of the area surrounding Torquay, Brixham the Moors and beyond.

Our experienced and dedicated management & nursing team are supported by a skilled care team that provides effective, person-centred care for those needing specialist dementia and nursing care.

The role:

To implement, organise appropriate personalised & achievable, therapeutic & recreational activities to enhance the lives & improve the well being of all residents in our care home.

Reports to:
Registered Home Manager / Deputy Manager / Clinical Lead Nurse / Duty Nurse

36 hour contract

Responsible for:

Working alongside other coordinators, liaising and communicating as a team; to plan & gain approval for a creative programme of varied group and / or individual events following discussions with residents, nurses & relatives and obtaining the authorisation of the registered home manager.
Publicise & communicate a structured activities programme, ensuring that all residents have access
Run, supervise and manage all events on the programme giving regard to patient safety, comfort & enjoyment. Group events may for example include craft classes, music, films, quizzes, bingo, reminiscence, entertainment, etc
Accompany residents on outings, ensuring adequate provision of support staff & that all safety standards are met, risk assessments undertaken & recorded particularly with regards to mobility.
Keep records of all finances associated with any activity programme; which must be in keeping with the agreed budget. Manage supply of all equipment.
Organise regular visits from Ministers of religious denominations. Assist with transport for residents who wish to attend ant religious services or event.
Attend to individual resident's social needs, including 1:1 private conversations, letter writing, reading & assisting with the pursuance of individual hobbies or interests.
To take responsibility for the completion of the homes news letter & activity boards.
Update Facebook with the activites going on at the home.
Any other reasonable task requested by a Nurse or Duty Manager, which is within your competence.

General Duties:

To establish and record the social profile of individuals documenting specific interests, hobbies, activities, cultural and spiritual preferences, organise and deliver personalised & achievable, therapeutic & recreational activities to enhance the lives & improve the well being of all residents in our care home.
To assist every person who receives care and support, whether provided by statutory services or funded by themselves, to have a choice and control over the shape of that support and their service.
To work in groups and with individuals to maintain their interests and enable access to community events or to achieve personalised aspirations within the home or in the local community setting.
To implement, organise appropriate personalised & achievable, therapeutic & recreational activities to enhance the lives & improve the well being of all residents in our care home.
Assist with homes administration completing all resident social care plans and documentation in an accurate, clear and timely manor.
To be aware of & adhere to all company policies & procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
To undertake other duties as may reasonably be required by the Manager or as necessitated by changes in your role & the overall business objectives of the Company.
