We have an exciting new opportunity and are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Greenkeeper to join the team in our Estates and Gardens department on a part time, permanent basis, 24 hours per week.

About the role:

The senior greenkeeper leads a team of 3 on the Golf course.

The team are responsible for maintaining a 9-hole Course and practise facility which includes a full size putting green a chipping practise green and various real turf practice areas one of which plays out to a 200yard driving range.

Greens and tees are constructed to USGA specification and need to be maintained as such.

The College are currently looking to expand the practice facilities including a short game area, additional target greens and an improved driving range.


The Course needs to be maintained year round so a shift rota is required of staff to cover outside regular working hours.

The Golf Department is equipped with a modern well maintained fleet of ride on machinery, pedestrian machinery and hand tools.


Key responsibilities include (Please see JD for full requirements):

  • To carry out mowing operations in all areas of height definition on the course using ride on and pedestrian machinery. This will include all machines to be prepared, maintained and operated safely in accordance with the operators manual and risk assessments
  • Changing of holes, tee markers and course signage. Care of tee mats, driving nets and ball washers
  • Bunker maintenance
  • To use strimmer's and brush cutters to control vegetation, and basic forestry using chainsaws, hand saws and loppers
  • Weed control by chemical and nonchemical methods
  • Maintenance of irrigation system, ponds, ditches, drainage and fences
  • Leaf, debris and litter clearance
