Location
Home-based role with regular UK-wide travel and some International travel

Role overview


Responsible for the provision and co-ordination of pre-sales, technical account management and day to day business development activities associated with Saab's SAFE unified command control and communications solution, targeting Blue-light organisations(Police/Fire/Ambulance).

Willingness to learn about new target market areas (e.g. airports, prisons, transport) and alternative Saab products (e.g. OneView PSIM - Physical Security and Information Management platform)


Duties & Responsibilities
The provision and co-ordination of a comprehensive pre sales consultancy service to the Public Safety & Security Sales team(s) including:

  • The capture, analysis and definition of customer's business needs and objectives
  • The production, review and management of Bid Responses, Sales Proposals and Quotations
  • Outlining, structuring and writing high scoring bid responses against customer requirements
  • Working with colleagues to produce Capture Plans, Win Themes, SWOT analysis
  • The production of sales cost and pricing spreadsheets
  • The production and management of sales demonstration systems
  • Production and delivery of sales/technical presentations for both customer and internal audiences.
  • Working closely with colleagues across all functions of the business; product management; software development; project management; commissioning; finance and service management to ensure all solutions, tender responses, proposals and/or quotations aredelivered to a high quality.
  • Acting as a Bid Manager where appropriate
  • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, systems integrators or other organisations as required.
  • Working with Product Management to communicate industry/domainspecific requirements effectively and ensure that the products being developed meet or exceed customer/market needs.

Required Product/Domain Knowledge and Experience
Previous experience and strong industry knowledge of Police and/or Fire operational solutions

Previous experience of working in a pre-sales role in a Public Safety focussed software solutions organisation with strong knowledge in some of the following product areas;

  • Public Safety 999/112 Control Room and Mobile Data solutions
  • Command & Control (C&C) / Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) solutions
  • Integrated Communications Control Systems (ICCS) with telephony and radio integration
  • Crime and Intelligence / Record Management Systems (RMS)
  • Other relevant Operational Police and/or Fire solutions.

Required Technical Knowledge and Experience
Strong background in technical pre-sales activities such as architecture design to fit customer specific requirements.

  • Experience in Cloud based technologies. Azure, AWS.
  • Technical understanding of server virtualisation and hypervisor technology such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Good voice and data network understanding and practical experience, LAN, WAN, VPN.
  • Experience of using software load balancing technology.
  • Good understanding of the full Microsoft technology stack including SQL Server.
Other skills and experience

  • Multiple customer and supplier management experience
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; especially Excel
  • Strong clientfacing skills
