The Role

If you are currently working as a process plant operator and want a company that offers more specialised training; or someone who is already a plant operator and is looking for a change then this position may be right for you.


You'll be working for Calders & Grandidge on London Road in Boston PE21 7HJ. we have over 100 years experience providing creosoted timber poles, railway sleepers, gates and fencing.

  • We have 1 opening currently and we need an additional team member to cover either the triple shift or day shift._

What you will be doing

:


As a creosote plant operator you will be responsible for operating, maintaining and optimising creosote treatment of varied timber products to customer specifications and standards.

Alongside the operation of the creosote plant you will be expected to maintain and monitor the CHP including a biomass and oil fired boiler, hot water system and associated ancillary equipment.

Shift duties will include;

  • Monitor Treatment Cycles to ensure product is treated to quality standards
  • Undertaking control room and site operational tasks
  • Operating the plant in a safe and efficient manner during normal running
  • Conduct routine maintenance and plant checks to optimise plant performance
  • Contribute to ongoing site improvements in health, safety & environment
  • Carryout fault finding tasks and assist engineering contractors with repairs
  • Undertaking housekeeping
  • Operation of shovel loader and FLT
  • Monitor and react to alarms from site biomass boiler and heating system
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly boiler checks

  • Full training will be provided in plant operations and machinery as well as a full Health and Safety induction._
