The Role;
We require a Finance Team Support to deliver a proactive and effective support across the Group. The duties involve a range of support activities within Finance, Development and IT.

The Finance Team support will assist other staff within the teams, enabling them to fulfil their functions in respect of service delivery.


Main Purpose of the Role


To provide team support to the directorate in delivering proactive and effective support across the Group which currently includes Cynon Taf Community Housing Association, Care & Repair and Down to Zero.

The duties involve a range of support activities within the directorate of Finance, Development and IT.


The Team support will assist other staff within the teams, enabling them to fulfil their functions in respect of service delivery.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support to the finance administrators in the:
  • Day to day running of the financial ledgers and reconciliations.
  • Registering of invoices in QL.
  • Update Group Invoice Spreadsheets ready for dept approvals and payment.
  • Assist with the maintenance of Project Bank Accounts
  • Provide support to the Director in the coordination of internal audit reviews and management of responses.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative/clerical support across the directorate as and when required
  • Provide cover for the Rent Assistant as required.

  • Efficient and effective support is provided in assisting the finance team in delivering the daytoday financial processing, maintenance and financial reporting for the housing association and subsidiaries of the Group within specified timelines.
  • Coordination of the internal audit programme and reporting is achieved.
  • Agreed ad hoc project support for development and/or IT is met.
  • Contributes to the development of the services within the directorate.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the Group and provide excellent service to colleagues

Person Specification

Essential;
-
Technical abilities

  • Experience of working in a finance/administrative role
  • Good degree of Education (5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths)
  • Computer literate
with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and in particular a high competency in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams and other messaging systems.

  • Time management skills in prioritising workload to meet fixed deadlines.
  • Excellent numeric and ability to form and manage spreadsheets.
  • Understanding of what excellent customer service is and demonstrate this when delivering administrative support across the directorate and Group

Desirable;

  • Knowledge of the social housing sector.
  • To have the ability to write and speak Welsh.

The role is offered as Hybrid to work between Abercynon offices and home.
