Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely.

We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.


Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.


We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Technical Specialist **to join HSBC Technology as
IBMz Product Owner - Monitoring & Observability

Role Description


To own and enhance the Monitoring and Observability functions in IBM Z platform, working collaboratively with CTO and IBS teams to meet with their business needs and achieve the Vision 27 goals on Speed, Scale, Resilience and People.


  • Define the Monitoring and Observability strategy and roadmap of IBM Z platform
  • Define the Monitoring and Observability framework and tools for IBM Z platform which are best fit for the Bank
  • Implement the Monitoring and Observability tools as per the roadmap
  • Continuously enhance the Monitoring and Observability functions and tools in IBM Z platform to meet with our business needs
  • Integrate the IBM Z Monitoring and Observability tools with the Enterprisewide tooling where applicable
Requirements


Responsibilities

  • Product strategy, roadmap, standards and procedures
  • Responsible for the Monitoring and Observability functions in IBM Z product catalogue
  • Product POC, design, build, testing, configuration and deployment
  • Performance management of the Product
  • Product consultancy, usage and best practices
  • Process engineering, automation and selfrecovery
  • Connect and collaborate with CTO and IBS teams on their requirements and solution build
  • 2nd and 3rd level product support

Essential Skillset/Experience

  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills
  • Good communication, teamwork and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with the main M&O current tooling, as well an outward view to new emerging technologies.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Good organisational skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • The ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Business awareness and understanding of the business requirements of IT
  • A willingness to keep up to date with developments in IBMz technology
  • A commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)
  • An understanding of information legislation, such as the GDPR.
  • Incident management
  • Agile practices

The role will be based in Sheffield but other locations in the UK will be considered.
