Akton recruitment are currently working with a Local Authority in Nottingham who are looking to recruit a Childrens Advanced Practitioner Social Worker to join their team.

By becoming a member of our Duty and Assessment teams, Children in Care team, or Field Work Team, you will deliver social work services with a high level of professionalism and a focus on keeping children and families at the center.

Your crucial role will involveensuring that families receive appropriate support at the necessary moments.

Level 3 are expected to have completed their ASYE or equivalent, carry a full and complex caseload, and undertake child protection investigations, case work for children in care and children in need, acting as the Lead Safeguarding Professional.


Level 3 Social Workers will receive supervision in line with Children's Integrated Services Supervision Policy, and are expected to provide guidance to less experienced and unqualified colleagues.


Advanced Practitioners are expected to have completed their ASYE or equivalent, carry a full and complex caseload, and undertake child protection investigations, acting as the Lead Safeguarding Professional.

They will be dedicated, highly experienced socialworkers with a strong background in children's services.


Principal duties and responsibilities:


  • To ensure the delivery of appropriate services to children with the most complex needs and their families, according to their assessed needs. This will include assessing the needs of children and their families against our agreed threshold criteria andin accordance with National Guidance with set timescales, the creation and implementation of culturally appropriate care plans that demonstrate flexibility and innovative use of resources.
  • To undertake childfocused assessments of need within a person centred approach, investigation and management of the most complex cases, including those of suspected abuse and neglect, having autonomy in making key decisions in child protection cases asthe Lead Professional and lead social worker for the service.
  • To take part in team duty systems providing an immediate and responsive service as the need arises in emergency work.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of good working relationships at all levels with colleagues in partner agencies and other City Council Departments, representing the Department at interagency meetings as appropriate.
  • To lead on safeguarding investigations in complex cases and where there are multiple incidents

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Professional Social Work Qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Direct experience working with children in a childcare setting
  • Possession of full driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Excellent communication skills to support internal and multiagency working relationships
  • Principal duties and responsibilities
