Job summary


Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team.

Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.


Main duties of the job
We are looking to employ a Part time (18 hours) admin assistant.


The hours expected to work:
Monday - 9:30am - 2:30pm 4.5 hours (30 minute lunch break)

Tuesday - 9:30am - 2:30pm 4.5 hours (30 minute lunch break)

Wednesday - OFF

Thursday - 9:30am - 2:30pm 4.5 hours (30 minute lunch break)

Friday - 9:30am - 2:30pm 4.5 hours (30 minute lunch break)

Job responsibilities


The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the Practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list.

Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the management team dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels:


  • Book/cancel/rearrange appointments
  • Tasks
  • Inbound and outbound telephone calls
  • Deal with enquires
  • Filing of medical records
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork
  • Prescriptions
  • Data processing
  • Registrations

COMMUNICATION

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good General Secondary Education
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as part of a team

Desirable

  • NHS experience
  • Experience of answering telephone calls in a high call volume Environment
  • Experience of setting up general office administrative systems / working in an administrative office environment

FLEXIBILITY

Essential

  • Flexible approach to undertaking a wide variety of tasks
  • Flexible with regard to working hours, eg antisocial hours, shifts, full or parttime working, holiday cover
  • Able to undertake training outside of normal working hours if necessary
