    We are working with a leading wholesaler to the building trade to hire a Strategic Buyer with exceptional Far East Supplier experience.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute procurement professional with experience in international sourcing, risk management, and strategic procurement processes. The role requires developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of correct, quality materials at competitive prices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of correct, quality materials at competitive prices.
    • Risk Management: Interrogate supply chains, identify, and mitigate risk.
    • Sourcing and Supplier Selection: Sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness to ensure the best value for the company.
    • Monitoring and Evaluating Supplier Performance: Continuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
    • Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop sourcing strategies that support their needs.
    • Market Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities.
    • Compliance and Record Keeping: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all procurement activities. Manage and maintain accurate procurement records and data using Netsuite.

    Requirements:

    • Interpersonal and Negotiation Skills: Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
    • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and ability to record data accurately.
    • Commercial Awareness: Commercial awareness – the ability to understand the business landscape.
    • SRM Skills: Exceptional SRM skills and approaches.
