Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join a fast paced business and friendly team.


The role:
You will supervise a team of drivers within a fast pace next day delivery transhipment point, driving health and safety and excellence through the service offering for all customers


Duties:


  • Checking and reviewing health and safety and transport compliance at the site, proactively developing Stay Safe improvements and culture.
  • Planning and reviewing delivery routes to maximise vehicle utilisation and fuel efficiency.
  • Responding to changes in resource requirements.
  • Coaching and giving feedback to drivers to ensure compliance with current legislation and dealing with infringements promptly.
  • Ensure that vehicles are inspected and maintained as per the company requirements and in accordance with goods vehicle operator's licence.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly, flexible and logical attitude to problems erratic volumes, vehicle breakdowns, delays.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial aspects of operating a commercial vehicle fleet numerate and analytical.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a Transport Supervisor role with a strong focus on health and safety, With the ability to motivate the team, communicate effectively and improve standards and performance.
  • HGV Driver licence with CPC training would be preferred but not essential with a good understanding of Transport legislation and best practise.
  • Good computer skills, strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communicator both written and verbal skills.

Hours:
Monday to Friday 6 am to 3 pm ( Flexibility available on these hours)


Salary:
£24,000 pa to £27,000 pa depending on experience + Pension and yearly profit share bonus + 25 days annual holiday + Bank Holidays.
