Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join a fast paced business and friendly team.

The role:
You will supervise a team of drivers within a fast pace next day delivery transhipment point, driving health and safety and excellence through the service offering for all customers

Duties:

Checking and reviewing health and safety and transport compliance at the site, proactively developing Stay Safe improvements and culture.
Planning and reviewing delivery routes to maximise vehicle utilisation and fuel efficiency.
Responding to changes in resource requirements.
Coaching and giving feedback to drivers to ensure compliance with current legislation and dealing with infringements promptly.
Ensure that vehicles are inspected and maintained as per the company requirements and in accordance with goods vehicle operator's licence.
Ability to make decisions quickly, flexible and logical attitude to problems erratic volumes, vehicle breakdowns, delays.
Knowledge and understanding of financial aspects of operating a commercial vehicle fleet numerate and analytical.

Experience Required:

Previous experience in a Transport Supervisor role with a strong focus on health and safety, With the ability to motivate the team, communicate effectively and improve standards and performance.
HGV Driver licence with CPC training would be preferred but not essential with a good understanding of Transport legislation and best practise.
Good computer skills, strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
Good communicator both written and verbal skills.

Hours:
Monday to Friday 6 am to 3 pm ( Flexibility available on these hours)

Salary:
£24,000 pa to £27,000 pa depending on experience + Pension and yearly profit share bonus + 25 days annual holiday + Bank Holidays.
