Salary:
Up to £65,500 dependent on skills and experience (dependent on skillset and experience)
Sting Ray Product Team:
As the Deputy System Design Authority for the Sting Ray Mod-2 torpedo you will directly support the Sting Ray Mod-2 Systems Design Authority in the development and delivery of this torpedo's mid-life upgrade programme with delegated authority and responsibility for aspects of the weapon's delivery.
What you'll be doing:
- Support the Sting Ray Mod2 System Design Authority as deputy in all delegated engineering tasks and make technical authority decisions relating to the development, testing and qualification of the Sting Ray Mod2 underwater weapon system
- Guide and underwrite the decomposition of requirements to system and subsystem level co‐ordinating management of these in an approved toolset such as IBM DOORS Next
- Direct and facilitate system design decomposition and architectural modelling to subsystem level, supporting production of architectural models in an approved toolset such as Cameo
- Support definition and oversight of system integration, test planning and execution
- Define and articulate acceptance strategies in order to verify requirement compliance at each level of system design, supporting production of customer acceptance evidence
- Liaise with the end customer to agree design principles, acceptance and trials strategies
- Support the Sting Ray Mod2 Systems Design Authority to attain design certification and acceptance of the underwater weapon system
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Requirements management experience
- Experience of working with and leading large scale complex system designs
- Further education in a relevant STEM discipline or relevant working experience
Desirable:
- Experience of using a highlevel design methodology (e.g. UAF, NAF, TOGAF, SysML, UML)
- A good working knowledge of contemporary Systems Engineering practices including Model Based Engineering (MBE/MBSE), digital threads, cyber security and safety procedures
