Description

The Royal College of Surgeons, in collaboration with the Society of British Neurological Surgeons, has previously granted approval for a 12 month fellowship in neuro-oncological surgery at UHS as part of the National Senior Surgical Fellowship Scheme.

The fellowship is designed to provide post
  • CCT neurosurgical trainees with an opportunity to develop the comprehensive knowledge and skills in neuro oncology required for appointment as a specialist neuro oncological surgical consultant.
WNC provides neurosurgical services to a population of 3 million in central southern England and the Channel Islands.

Neurosurgical services are organised around sub-specialty interests in line with national guidelines with 2 neurosurgeons designated as specialist neuro-oncological surgeons in accordance with NICE IOG for brain and CNS tumours.

All adult neurosurgery for non-skull base cranial tumours is carried out by these surgeons and this provides a fantastic opportunity.
