We have 1000s of students around the world as part of our Primary and Secondary online schools. Our students are supported by a team of tutors and administrative staff. Most of our staff are UK-based although we also have staff in other countries.


We offer a full range of courses to our students with a focus on delivering an engaging and personalised asynchronous learning experience that prepares students for academic success and personal growth.

In addition, we support schools in delivering online learning opportunities to their students via Wolsey Hall.


Due to our continued growth, we are developing our Secondary Leadership team with the addition of the role of _Deputy Head of Secondary.

Position overview**:


Key areas of the role**:


Academic Leadership:


  • Work alongside the Head of Secondary to implement the school's academic vision, ensuring alignment with UK and international standards and qualifications.
  • Work with the wider Academic team to ensure consistency of programme delivery at all levels, ensuring the effective delivery of teaching and the maintenance of academic standards.
  • Lead cross phase curriculum development efforts, ensuring that our offering is up to date, engaging and aligned with Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel requirements.
  • Establish and oversee systems for tracking and evaluating course performance related to student progress.
  • Promote a culture of learning that is directed to student needs, and of teaching that is informed by feedback from students and parents.
  • Enable parents to become key partners in supporting their children, leading to the students' academic success and personal achievement.
  • Ensure that all staff recognise that they are accountable for Wolsey Hall Oxford's success.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive online learning environment for students.
  • Foster a global perspective and cultural sensitivity among students.
  • Deputise for the Head of Secondary in their absence.

Staff Development and
Management:


  • Collaborate with the Head of Secondary, Tutor Services Manager and Tutor Support Supervisor to recruit, train and manage teaching and administrative staff.
  • Provide ongoing professional development and support to ensure staff are wellequipped to deliver highquality guidance and feedback to students.
  • Work alongside the Tutor Services Manager and Tutor Support Supervisor to monitor the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Support the Admissions Team and Student Progress Manager teams to assist students in choosing the most suitable courses, based on their academic background, goals, interests and career aspirations.
  • Offer guidance on interpreting students' academic performance data, including grades, standardised test scores, and other assessment results, to identify areas where additional support or enrichment may be needed.

Parent and Stakeholder
Engagement:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians, and schools, providing regular communication and opportunities for feedback.
  • Present regular online webinars and informational sessions for prospective and current homeschooled students and their parents, providing them with tools and strategies to enhance the homeschooling experience.

Experience
and Skills**:


  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree plus a recognised teaching qualification e.g. PGCE
  • Experience in educational leadership, particularly in an international school.
  • Experience of managing online learning.
  • Proficiency in the use of data to improve learning and course delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A Level and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, GCSE and A Level.
  • Proficiency in online learning platforms and technology.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to support, motivate, lead and manage staff.
  • Selfmotivation and excellent organisational skills are essential. As Wolsey Hall is a virtual organisation, you will work from home most of the time. Collaboration is mostly online, although there will be opportunities for facetoface meetings from time to time.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The role is full-time hours (including term time and non-term time) and carries a holiday entitlement of 25 days per annum, plus bank holidays.
