Consultant in Clinical Haematology 10 PA Job Plan - 1:5 on call (substantive)

A opportunity has arisen to join the thriving Clinical Haematology Department at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.


We are looking for an enthusiastic substantive whole-time consultant and one fixed term locum consultant to join our team which includes a full range of allied health care professionals and specialist nurses.

Kingston Hospital is a busy, flourishing hospital which has been awarded Foundation Trust status from 1stMay 2013.

With 550 beds, the Trust is located in an attractive part of Surrey within easy reach of Central London and open country.

A recently opened £22 million development includes new surgical wards, a medical assessment unit and an education and training centre.

The Trust offers an excellent range of benefits and has a strong commitment to the health and wellbeing of its staff.


The department has close links with St George's Hospital and Royal Marsden Hospital where patients are referred for stem cell transplants.


The department also has a good educational profile with the popular 'FRCPath Revision Courses' run for exam going haematology trainees from all over UK and abroad.

There will be an opportunity to teach on these reputable courses


The post holder is expected to cover ward inpatients and participate in the on-call rota and will be encouraged to develop a research portfolio for clinical trials and translational research.

The department currently anchors 5 trials and the post-holder will be encouraged and supported to do more translational work.


It is essential that you possess MRCP (or equivalent training and experience) and FRCPath and are on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of obtaining your CCST at the time of interview.
