Ensures patients can access hyper acute stroke beds without delay 24/7 Provides access to neurosurgery, vascular surgery and neuroradiology Provides access to Mechanical Thrombectomy currently Monday to Friday, however the service is due to expand Provides access to a brain scan within 1 hour of arrival Delivers a significant reduction in the demand for long term care post stroke and subsequent pressures on long term social care outside hospital Offers access to thrombolysis treatment 24/7 Ensures 80% of patients who come into hospital with a stroke spend more than 90% of their time on a stroke unit Offers patients 7 day access to all allied health professionals inclusive of Stroke Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Care Practitioners Offers 7 day TIA service Provides an integrated system of stroke care to improve patient care across the whole region.
