Over-view of the Quality / Expediting Engineer
2fawcett are recruiting for a Quality / Expeditor engineer based in Chesterfield. This is an exciting new role to be part of an expanding team with great growth plans.
You will be working closely with the Buyer and Product development team to ensure orders are executed to the required quality specifications and requirements.
You will have prior Quality engineer type experience, and have knowledge of measuring/inspection equipment.You will have technical knowledge to be able to answer any supplier questions and be able to project plan to ensure quality is adhered too at the highest level.
You will also be required to attend supplier visits when required.Requirements of the Quality / Expediting Engineer
- Responsible for company measuring / inspection equipment. maintain register of equipment and ensure calibrations are current
- Ensure supplier measuring / inspection equipment is appropriate and methodology meets company requirements
- Expedite supplier progress for POs to ensure correct quality and on time delivery are maintained supplier visits as required.
- Create and maintain A suite of standard inspection reports for common parts for issue to suppliers where applicable
- Responsibility for maintaining supplier matrix showing products and costs from each company used by the client.
- Monitor ongoing key supplier performance.
- Use guidelines to audit and Monitor supplier performance and remedial actions.
- Identify potential new suppliers and assist with audits to facilitate supplier approval
- Plan individual projects into overall departmental order book to ensure on time delivery to customers
- Assist buyer and Sales team with generating costs for inclusion into quotations to customers
- Ensure outstanding order register is updated on A regular basis to reflect supplier performance
- Check PORs to suppliers ensuring all relevant information is provided in the PO documentation
- Work with colleagues to ensure completion of departmental targets for business improvement initiatives
- Responsible for day to day oversight of site activity including inspection, goods inwards, packing, documentation & dispatch
Requirements:
- Manufacturing background
- Technical engineering knowledge
- Metals would be ideal
- Hands on Inspection experience
- Previous experience auditing Suppliers
