We are currently recruiting for a
Business Support Specialist to join our Corporate Business Support Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Child Protection Conferencing team supporting vulnerable families in Buckinghamshire. About us:


Our Corporate Business Support Service has over 300 staff delivering a wide variety of Business Support services across Buckinghamshire Council.

We have been operating since April 2012 and we are looking for Individuals with the ability to demonstrate the Buckinghamshire Council's values.


We aim to provide front line services with an efficient, value for money business process administration and project support service.

We pride ourselves on being resilient and adaptable to change, whilst understanding the processes, policies and values held by the council.

We pride ourselves as highly experienced in working across a range of services provided in the council.

The strength of the team is its knowledge of the key support services required to ensure a smooth running of services being provided by the different Business Units.


About the role:


We are looking for experienced administrators with exceptional organisation skills and minute taking experience, who will be able to provide effective support.

All work carried out is of a highly confidential nature and the main tasks of a Business Support Specialist are:


  • Coordinating, organising, attending, and supporting the Child Protection Conferences within the Business Support Team.
  • Minute taking at child protection conferences
  • Typing up and distributing of notes and plans within tight deadlines
  • Diary management and setting up of meetings both face to face and on MS Teams
  • Supporting with generic tasks required of a Business Support Specialist.
  • The ability to build professional working relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • To be able to organise your own workload and prioritise effectively.
Work location


We currently have 3 days working from home and a minimum of 2 days in the office depending on the business need.

We are looking for someone to fill our vacancy in Amersham There will be a requirement from time to time for you to work from Aylesbury and Wycombe offices depending on business needs.

There are occasions where you may be required to travel out of county however these instances do not happen very often and will be pre-planned.


Any-Desk:


As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required.

You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements*.


About you:


  • Possesses good communication skills and accurate attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience of taking meeting minutes on a laptop.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and unambiguous minutes which accurately reflect discussions that have taken place.
  • To have strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Educated to GCSE / NVQ2 standard or equivalent, including in English and Maths.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
