My client is looking to recruit a Product and Production Planning Manager to join their growing business.

The purpose of the role is to support the business in its transformation and growth through your passion and expertise in the category.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Product Management

  • Product Management responsibility for your areas to include definition of Product Range, Range Management, and Pricing Architecture
  • Product Development of existing Range to ensure products continue to evolve in line with customer & market demands
  • New Product Development.
  • Support Commercial Director & Sales team in development of proposals for customers and new business from initial enquiry through to sale & postsale stages (e.g. installation)
  • Quality assurance of product in conjunction with Warehouse team
  • Providing technical advice and knowledge to support Sales & Customer, Buying, and Production teams in resolving queries and issues
  • Production of content to support Marketing, On-Site Category and Product Pages, and Social Media strategies as well as key customer marketing efforts
  • Develop and deliver training programmes to support our customers product knowledge and regulatory/compliance requirements
  • Increase and develop knowledge of your categories across the business

Production Planning

  • Working alongside Production Departments in defining materials for products
  • Ensure product component details are accurate utilising internal software systems
  • Develop Monthly & Weekly Production Planning Schedules in line with business requirements
  • Work alongside Buying to define optimum material replenishment requirements. Support Buying in sourcing components and materials that are optimised/improve Cost
  • Quality
  • Time dimensions
  • Development, testing, and control of in house manufactured products from conception through to small batch production to full. Ensuring manufacturing processes are of the highest standard
  • Liaison with suppliers on control and development of new and existing products

About You

  • You will have strong product and industry knowledge or knowledge from an associated/adjacent industry that would allow to acquire knowledge at a fast pace
  • Enthusiastic about your category. This enthusiasm will fire your desire to find better ways, deal with setbacks, and deliver a great experience for our customers
  • Curious and a desire to learn and understand why things are the way they are and if they can be better
  • Able to interact with people internally and externally in a friendly/amiable manner and make the complex straightforward and easy to understand for those nonexperts and dive into technical detail with those that are
  • Most importantly, you want to commit to a project and journey of growing a small to medium sized business over a number of years. You want to input significantly into that growth through the decisions and actions you undertake and see the outcomes of whatyou do. You will find that you grow yourself and take on more and more responsibility every few months.
