Description
We are looking for a Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in Gloucester. This is a full-time and permanent position.


Main responsibilities will include:


  • Collating and processing timesheets to the job costing module
  • Calculating payable hours and uplifts based on hours worked and contract entitlements
  • Processing data into the payroll module
  • Preparing/collating payroll information for the groups foreign subsidiary's
  • Preparing payroll tax information for the group
  • Coordinating with the HR department to ensure data accuracy
  • Preparing approval paperwork for sign off by signatories
  • Pension and auto enrolment administration
  • Coordinating with Supervisors and Managers to ensure absences are recorded correctly
  • Provide accounting support for labour variance calculation and analysis
  • Providing general support to other departments as and when required
  • Highly organised; prioritising their workload efficiently to ensure strict deadlines are met
  • Able to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Confident IT users, particularly with Excel
  • Strong numerical and analytical thinkers
  • Comfortable working without constant supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Have experience working in a payroll assistant or similar role, however full training will be provided

The following skills and qualifications are not essential but will be advantageous:

  • 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English and maths
  • Level 3 qualification in payroll
  • Experience in using Cascade HR/Payroll software beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided
