This is a key role at the Northumbria Health and Care Academy (NMAHP) to progress technology enhanced learning across the nursing, midwifery and allied health professional workforce.

This role will work with the clinical education team to develop and implement innovative education methods including immersive, simulated, virtual and eLearning.

Support the development and delivery of the Northumbria Health and Care Academy (NMAHP).

To be bold in implementing innovative new ways of technology enhanced learning (TEL).


To provide comprehensive technical support for the delivery of TEL, ensuring that all technical and equipment requirements are provided and set up appropriately.

Responsible for ensuring that all TEL equipment functions effectively at all times, investigating IM&T issues and managing any repairs.

Provide Support to wider education team to build, develop and deliver TEL.

Develop staff knowledge and ability is use of TEL and new IM&T systems required for partnership working.

Develop and maintain a range of information including TEL library/database.

To work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including L&D, IT Training and Medical Education (DASH) and university partners.


We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.
